It was around 7 in the morning. Josh was watching the news and I was cleaning the kitchen when we realized that both girls were playing together quietly in their room! It was something we’ve been waiting for for Macy’s whole life (10 months), which may not seem like a long time, but it was for us. So we went and peeked at them. Aylah was reading an Elmo book and Macy was sucking on a cup from a tea set. Perfect. Wonderful. Peaceful. Quiet. This can only be good news for our future.
This morning as I was changing Macy’s poopy diaper Aylah came in and stood at the end of the dresser and said, “Pee-you Macy!” pause “This is awesome.” I just looked at her and she smirked and walked away.
Macy attempted standing on her own yesterday. She let go of my leg and stood for 5 seconds…. And so it begins. She is also crawling all over the house from one end to the other and is picking up speed every day. She is also still sleeping like a champ. 6:30pm to 7:00am.
Aylah just walked through the living room with 3 winter hats on her head…. What? Oh and this pair of mittens on a string my grandma knit for Macy. Make that 4 hats.
I walked into the kitchen last night and turned on the light and scared the heck out of a little baby mouse that was on our counter top. It scared me too but I just screamed “mouse!” and watched it run for cover, sliding across the counter with it’s butt coming incredibly close to the edge before it disappeared behind the stove with one flying leap. Hence why I was cleaning the kitchen at 7 in the morning.
I also had another run in with a mouse and a pan of brownies... his little tail was sticking out from under the tinfoil. I was so mad! Little bugger. We got him last night... revenge.
It was been super cold here for a long time. It is kind of unusual for where we live. Last week I stayed inside with the girls for 4 days. On the 4th day I took them to a huge indoor mall. When I let Aylah out of the stroller after we walked in from the parking lot she started running and didn’t stop until she had gone the whole length of the mall. I was just following laughing. I guess she needed to get out. We do go to the park every day in the summer so I’m sure she needed some exercise.
And here are some recent pictures. Some promised long ago from Christmas and some candids of the girls in no particular order. Enjoy and Happy January!
