August has been a great month for us. It went by fast! We took our trip to Michigan to visit family and friends and saw lots of people. Overall we think that it was our best trip back since we moved. We have surpassed our 2 year mark of moving to New Jersey. When we were on vacation we had a lot of people ask us when we were going to be done and move back. We haven’t wanted to limit ourselves to a certain time period and we are still not ready to make a time commitment. So let’s just say anywhere from 3 to 20 more years… We feel that if we state a time, that it might limit what God’s will is for us here.
Here are some pictures of our trip to Michigan. After getting home we realized that most of our pictures were from Holland and not Traverse City. Usually it’s the opposite, but Aylah was so fun to take pictures of on the beach.

Aylah loved the lake so much! She played in the water for so long that her lips would turn blue and would tell my mom, “No go see Mommy. More water!” She was so much fun to play with and even “helped” Josh build lots of sand castles :)

In Traverse City Jonah, Elizabeth, Ella, and the four of us all stayed in Josh’s parents house. It was great to all be together, even though it was a little squishy.
I made playdough for Aylah. It's "edible" but Aylah refused to play with it anymore after she stuck a big glob in her mouth (after much warning from me not to).

Josh and I also got 2 nights away together without children. We felt so free and I loved it... by the 2nd night away I wasn't even sad to leave them. Is that bad?
Macy was baptized when we were visiting our church, University Reformed, in East Lansing. It was great to be back and see all of our friends and share with the church about New City. We also got to stay with our friends Jon and Vanessa and their little girl Lillian. Aylah and Lillian loved playing together. They are about 10 months apart and Aylah has asked about her nonstop since getting home. She asked to go see her last night :( So sad. We said, "maybe we'll see her again soon."

Well, that's all I got in me tonight. I'll post more later, hopefully with some good stories of life here!

So, I have been thinking for awhile now that Aylah was looking much more like you, but something was off. But I still had trouble putting my finger on what was. The picture next to your dad. She looks like Larry only more girlie. So, cute. Glad you had fun in MI. Miss you.
