Aylah greets Macy every morning with a personal conversation that goes something like this, "Hiiiii, Wacy (typo on purpose) "How you do day?" (How are you doing today). "Ni-Ni" (she was sleeping) "Nuki?" (she used her pacifier)" Ooohhhh! Wankie?" (blanket) "Oooohhhh! Tickle Wacy, aahhhh. Hold? Hold, Mommy?" (She wants to hold Macy) And then it ends with a kiss and hug. It's really quite hilarious and I'll try to get it on video soon.
I meant to add some pics/videos but Josh took our camera with him on the college tour so I'll have to wait til he brings it back home.
Macy went to the doctor this week. She is 10 pounds exactly and 22 inches long.... 75th percentile for both... we grow them big :) It is encouraging that she is growing so well since I am always wondering exactly how much she is getting to eat.
Aylah and I also went to the doctor today... Me for my 6 week appointment and Aylah for being sick. Aylah woke up in the middle of the night screaming/gasping for breath, shaking, and crying. She has a horrible seal cough so we went to the doctor and found out that she has croup. Her voice is hoarse and she was very clingy and tired today. I loved cuddling with her b/c she is usually up and down and all over the place. But I do wish that she was better. I'm bracing myself for a long night... it supposedly gets worse at night. She is on some antibiotics for 3 days and then I'm supposed to call and report how she's doing. My appointment was great. Everything looks normal and my scar is healing nicely and I don't have to go back for 6 months.
So I was talking to Deborah today about "The Kiss." The kiss is something that I never experienced until moving here. It is what I call it when males and females hug you and "kiss" the air next to your face. I was familiar with this before but only within the context of other countries/cultures. But since we moved here this has happened to me several times. The first I was rather taken aback and didn't know what to do. I mention this now because my OB (who is a male) gave me a hug/air kiss when he said goodbye to me today and wished me a Happy Mothers Day. Deborah was at the office with me watching Macy while I was in seeing the doctor. So is this an east coast thing? How about an "upper class" thing? I also laughed after it happened because Josh and I have had a couple conversations about my OB who is in his early to mid 30's, is married and has kids. Josh asked me what he was like one time and I told him and he asked what he looked like and I said that he was good looking.... which opened the door for jokes being thrown my way about thinking my OB was cute. So I just laughed in my head and told myself to tell Josh what happened. "Shady. Hitting on my wife." Is probably what Josh will say :)
Josh gets back tomorrow from being gone all week. He is exhausted and hasn't gotten much sleep... so I feel bad that he is coming back to a wife who is just as exhausted and a very sick little girl. Once he recovers we have to start packing and figuring out how we are going to paint our apartment... move in day is May 1!!!! I'm so excited I could burst. I'm so happy to move and put some distance between us and New City. It's time to have our own space.
That's all for now. It's 10:00 and I've got a little peanut to feed.

The kissing thing.
They do it out here too! It makes me so uncomfortable. They hug you as a greeting and air kiss/kiss the cheek both sides of your face. They do it to when you leave too. I thought it was a hispanic culture thing here because that is who does it. It catches me off guard every time! And you know how I am. Weird. West Michigan must just be left out of this weird loop.
Well thank goodness the kissing thing is not happening in Texas because it would weird me out too.
So, I totally used your place where you changed your background at. ;o) Thanks! Anyways, we are looking so forward to new updated photos of our nieces!! :o) Hope you continue to feeling better Andrea and Aylah too!! *Hugs* ~E, J,& E
